Menu for Friday, September 23

Greetings students. Today in the lab you will be working on the following things:

1. Pick an image from the internet that you find interesting and copy and paste into a Google Doc that you create. Then you will describe the image with as many sensory details as you can.

For example, if you have a picture of an apple
Apple

The apple is a round fruit with a sort of dimple at the end. It's skin is smooth and firm and it is about the size of a softball. It smells sweet  and fresh. The color is dark red, with some spots . It is narrow at the bottom and wider at the top. The stem sticks out from the top of the apple. The light reflects on its skin. This fruit grows on trees and many kids used to give them to their teachers, for some strange reason.

2. When you are done, check out the page for Spanish and English cognates
click HERE
Make another Google doc, or write in your notebook and collect as many cognates as you can!

How do you collect them?
Write them down between an equal sign
like this!

English                 Spanish
chocolate    =       chocolate
abandon     =        abandonar

You can work with a partner and build a document together!

3. Publish your narratives if you are ready!

4. When you finish you can go to Free Rice, BrainPOP, or This good page on Sixth grade Language skills: Click here
