Christmas

Christmas - Christmas is a time to get with your family and celebrate , some ( most ) of the kids think its a time to get presents and more presents but it isnt I too like getting presents but sometimes its not all about getting presents .

Christmas is all about getting with your family together decorate a tree and enjoy the tree it is also much alike to eat a big dinner like in thanksgiving , Christmas can also mean many diffrent things but I perfer the way me and my family celebrate it.

Room 4's Field Trip

On Thursday December 16,2010 Mr.Nieto's class and Mrs.Duberry's class went to The Tech Museum.

In room 4 and other classes got boxes that contained bags filled with pencils,pens,binders and other school supplies. An anonymous donated this room 4 doesn't know who donated these items if we find out we could thank the man or women.

Schools aren't always fair

I think that school is unfair with the students because we have to wear uniforms wich are ugly. I'm sure that most of the kids at school think that uniforms are really stupid and lame clothes. If I was the principal of the school I would totally take off uniforms from the policy because it really doesn't let students show who they really are.

There are many reasons why I don't like uniforms. One of them is because I feel like I'm in prison and I am being ordered to do what people say. Another one is because it doesn't let people know who you really are. Finally because the uniform colors are just not colorful at all. I have many other reasons of why I don't like them, but I won't say them because there not appropiate.

School is Prison

School uniforms make me feel like I'm in prison, because we all have to wear the same color white and khaki every single day. Also it makes me feel like I'm in prison because in prison you have to wear the same clothing as we do, they have to wear those cloth because they did something bad and we haven't done anything bad.I dont know one kid that likes wearing uniforms, but if someone does they must be crazy.I think that the whole school does not like unforms because it may make them feel uncomfortable or express their personality. When we wear school unforms we look bad because the unforms are ugly.

My Uniform Opinion

''The nasty old uniform makes me feel like a prisoner and a criminal I hate it !". I have been in Tyrrell School for 3yrs and I've never seen anything this horrible happen having to wear uniforms. I think these uniforms should go they don't belong in Tyrrell , Tyrrell is better off without them .

The fact that i don't really like it is because I cant show my personality through clothes , its not like we are going to wear anything inappropriate ! They should trust us! Schools should let students be whoever they really want to be .

I want to be able to express my personality more , but with the uniform on its not worth it .

Expressing

When I am wearing my uniform I feel like I am in prison because most of the kids in Tyrrell School wear them. In 2009 they started saying that we are going to wear our uniforms "I don't like wearing uniforms," said a anonymous girl. My opinion is that I like it before when we could express our personality and people could see who we really are.
The fact for some students is that they don't like the uniforms and other kids do like them.
I think that people should be allowed to express their personality because with the uniforms nobody knows your personality.

School is a prison

My school is a prison because of school uniforms. I think that the school should allow us to wear whatever clothes we want. I think that the school should at least let us wear what we want because they already tells us what we can and can not do and now they are telling us what clothes we can wear and what we can not, I just think that they already control enough , we should at least have some free dome by wearing what we want to wear.

But the principal thinks that the uniform makes us look more sophisticated, but my opinion is different because I just don't like wearing khaki pants and white shirts for five days out of the week. But that's just my opinion so if you have a different opinion leave a comment.

Uniforms under Costumes?

A paper got out to the students in Tyrrell School and it said that in Friday, October 29th that we are going to wear our uniforms under our costumes . An anonymous girl said,"What if our costume is a dress, do we still have to wear our uniform." I think that students don't want to wear the uniform, but that is my opinion.

Homework kills trees

Study shows that when you give out homework you kill trees. The more homework the more trees you destroy.We think homework is a threat to trees and the environment. Some scientists believe that you can stop killing trees by not giving homework. People kill trees by giving homework which is paper. The less you give homework you give the less trees we kill. Barack Obama says it is not a good idea to give out homework. Homework results in less trees and less oxygen.

Trees have a fear of homework and paper. The more trees we cut down for homework the less oxygen we have.

Three students from room 4 found a exciting website that's called funbrain.com and their is a special game about and is a math you can go to funbrain math arcade.com but with no spaces. Then you go and start as new player and pick whether you're a girl/boy then you pick you're game card. You start with easy math then it gets hard but it also turns out to be fun you get a password each time you pass a level . It will take a few days to finish so don't worry if you don't finish it in a day if you're smart you will finish earlier and got more time and would be willing to stay in for recess you can pass more levels until the end.

Classroom book

Room 4 is reading The Lightning Thief it is a book about myth and Greek gods. The book is about a boy named Percy who is a normal kid but doesn't know he's a demigod until he goes to a field trip and something goes weird . Its is weird when Percy feels like pushing Nancy because she did something to him suddenly Percy gets mad and the fountain grabs her then people are saying did you see that the water grabbed her. Mrs. Dodds didn't do anything she just said she would buy her a new shirt from the gift shop. She called Percy he taught she was going to make him buy her a new shirt.

They both went inside not outside were they were eating their lunch. Both went to a place were it was being fixed Percy turned around and Mrs. Dodds was way up high she turned into some kind of bat she said his time was up then Mr. Brunner appered and handed Percy a pen Mr.Brunner told Percy to click it and it turned into sword.He closed his eyes and didn't even know he sliced Mrs.Dodds she vaporized. Percy went outside told Mr. Brunners what happened and he didn't believe him then he showed the pen he said it was his and said thank you. So he didn't say anything and told Grover but he didn't believe him Percy knew he was lying because he turned pink on the way to school from the field trip,the day was over it was their last day they were heading home on the bus to home they did a pit stop there were 3 old ladies they snapped a piece of yarn Percy got suspicious. That is the chapter were Percy gets suspicious.

Room 4 plans for Newspaper !

As we all know here in room 4 we are going to have a Newspaper ! I am very excited because this is one of the first greatest ideas that we have comed up with ! This is good news because we are going to investigate about everything that is going on in Tyrrell School !

This activity will be great for us because sure enough we all want to know what interesting things have or are going on in Tyrrell . We should thank the people who came up with this idea , it will help us learn in many ways like for example looking for proof .

ALD/ELD

As you know last Monday we started ALD/ELD and everyone is going to a different class every morning, but even kinder go to a different place, for teachers there is a new program that they give by grade according to the program makers this gives you the tools necessary to fully participate in all aspects of the classroom life like listening with comprehension; speaking about ideas and concepts with accuracy and confidence; reading for varied purposes with understanding.ELD teaches the language that English learners aren't likely to learn outside the school, will not be taught in other subject areas and they need to be able to use everyday effective academic learning and classroom participation.

GROSS!!!!!!! A father in Oxfordshire finds a dead mouse in his loaf of bread. While trying to make lunch for his son and son's friends. Uniforms

When we entered this new school year,we found out that we still had to wear our uniforms! We are very upset that we dont have the liberty to wear what we want. We want to wear our own clothes,shoes and other things. Its also unfair that middle schools dont have to wear them, neither do teachers! 99.9% of kids think that uniforms are EVIL!! This is proven by science(maybe) PLEASE COMMENTOF WHAT YOU THINK!!!!! PLEASE.

STUDENT ELECTIONS

As you know this year we are going to elect a president, vice president , secretary . We don't know when this event will happen , but we all know this event will happen . I am very excited to see who will be our president because the last president said that they were going to make a haunted hall way but it turns out that she didn't make it . So that's why we need to elect someone who will keep their promises someone loyal, honest, responsible , fun and not bossy.

New Librarian

If you have noticed, Mr.Gugle is no longer working at Tyrrell school for the year.This year the students came to find that Mr.Gugle wasn't here. Later on they announced that he will not be here this year and that we will be geting a new librarian for the year. If you haven't met her, she is a pretty good librarian. She is called Ms.Brakett. She is not funny like Mr.Gugle, but she is nice. We will all miss Mr.Gugle, and we all hope that he will be back soon

Halloween

As we all know Halloween is coming up, so we are all preparing for the big event so get your ghost stories prepared and prepare to have some fun. I still don't know if we will be having the parade where everyone with costumes will walk around. I hope we do,after all its pretty fun seeing other kids costumes. We are all very excited about Halloween, and we hope all the kids bring their costumes to school(if they are allowed this year). We hope you have a fun time waiting for this fun event! New Books?

Are Tyrrell teachers going to get new books for the class? The Schoolastic Book Magazine has arrived to Tyrrell School. There is a collection of 100 books, with some cool extras included with a couple of books! From the funny Diary Of A Wimpy Kid books to the Action pounding of The Percy Jackson Series. There are books that are under three dollars! This magazine contains books of all types: Comedy, Action, Fantasy,Fiction,Non-Fiction, entertainment and many more. Will teachers take advantege of this event? Will you?

Assembly at Tyrrell

On Tuesday, Tyrrell students went to an assembly to hear about wearing uniforms and about not throwing things into the construction area. Everybody heard Ms. Maldonado speak about safety, and other school rules.

School Year Begins at Tyrrell!

This year Tyrrell students arrived for the first day of classes to find a new soccer field! Not only that, but the construction is underway for a whole new school!
